things thought while running Big Sur:
- WHY DID THIS EVER SOUND LIKE A GOOD IDEA?
- Uhhh, is it possible to hit the wall at mile 7?
- Maybe I will retire from running for a while and come back to it when I’m 60 or so.
- OR: perhaps I should shift my focus from running to improv (from one thing I’m so-so at doing to another!)
- No really, I am not bothering to run up this hill when there is a 20 mph wind trying to push me back down it. Semi-power-walking will have to suffice.
- You know, everyone who drove the course with me yesterday saw all these same sights.
- Time goals? What time goals?
- You seriously placed a hill at the 25-mile mark? Really?
- Anyone who claimed that the course wasn’t too bad is the devil, especially those who said the 2-mile long hill in the middle wasn’t as bad as the rolling hills at the end. It was (and since I thought that I became extra-concerned those rolling hills would end me).
- Eh, maybe I’ll just walk the last 6 miles.
- WHY DID I CHOOSE TO DO THIS TO MYSELF?
